Cosmopolitan Arts specialise in taking arts to people who don't usually have the opportunity to access the arts or culture, creating arts projects and events that focus on celebrating cultural diversity to help break down barriers.
We have delivered some hugely successful projects and events over the years through the support of our fantastic funders.
Our annual Cosmopolitan Carnival and spectacular combined arts grand finale shows have taken place at various sites across the city centre since 2014, and before that on a smaller scale at the Manor House Community Centre.

We are delivering the first ever project looking into cultural diversity in Leicester. This project will run from 2019 - 2022, we will create an academic paper and documentary of our findings. We will work with 15 different cultural groups over 3 years, producing a series of workshops to create artefacts and performances within the Cosmopolitan Carnival. We will also run a celebration event within each community that we work in.

We work in Highfields, one the most culturally diverse areas of the city, with the most 0-15 years and high levels of deprivation. The Cosmopolitan Music project provides free music lessons for 9-17 year olds.
Funded by Youth Music
At our regular Cosmopolitan Arts Camps, we work with young people delivering arts and cultural based projects, to raise their aspirations, teach them transferrable and interpersonal skills and increase empowerment.
